Apparently it’s a thing! News to me, but what do I know about weddings? Very, very little is what I know about weddings!
I did two save-the-date designs for Matt and Erin. They are getting married, not sure if you knew.

The wedding’s theme is wine (the red colour), accented by a green – which is hopefully similar to the green I used!
The first one is my favourite. That lily took a long time to illustrate.

I was working on this three by six foot banner for Tsang Dentistry, when I got one of those not enough memory to perform this task errors! So ha! to anyone who thought 12GB of RAM was excessive!
Unrelatedly, the banner was for a judo tournament, but other than that I don’t know much. I kept everything as large as possible because who knows what the average viewing distance will be?

It’s a tooth wearing a bathrobe! No big deal, he just got out of bed and answered his door only to find it is the entire human content of one judo competition on his porch and milling about his front yard! That tooth is having a bad day, and at a loss for appropriate words, but at least he is clean and also healthy.

I can tell from the hurtful lack of emails and comments that this past week without update has been noticed by most of you. I can explain. And this isn’t just one of those explanations meant to stall for time and an opportunity for escape. It is that, but also nothing more.
There were a lot of things to be done after coming back from Victoria this past weekend. Most interesting being a second game demo contest with Shaun Kiernan, to be judged by his girl-friend’s sister’s boy-friend Richard.
Once long ago a similar competition resulted in Prawnager’s Nightmare (which can be found somewhere in this blog’s past). That time, we had a month. This time, we had only a week.
The limited time forced me to leave bits and pieces I’d have rather included out. Smoke does not rise from points of fire and destruction in the distance. There is no in-game restart, null-opt rich menu, or title screen. The player animations are limited and few. And the princess. I had only ten minutes or so to draw the princess. Which is why she is in silhouette. Unfortunately it was anything but clear over the dark, looming mountains which hints at explanation for the gross gradient.
Oh, well. It was submitted with only three minutes to spare. And I think it looks pretty cool.
Also, I really like the way I handled parallaxing, code-wise.
The demo is here. It’s of reasonable size, so it might take some time to load.

Tomorrow, I am going for lunch with Circle. I worked there once, long ago.
It is a birthday lunch, but not at all JB’s. That guy is long gone.
He escaped Abby’s grasp as soon as possible, and as far as I know has yet to fondly look back.
I was looking for something to post that I hadn’t posted before. Here are the original storyboards for Prawnager Prawnington, one for each of the four scenes.
And here is a donkey I drew for JP a while ago. He wanted a donkey that was wearing sunglasses, listening to an ipod, and had a 72o tattoo. Also, it’s tail is kind of a spade.
